Episode 15 of Blue Lock finally brought victory to Nagi and Isagi’s team. While I’m happy they won, this episode also made me gain respect for Naruhaya’s character, who, unlike the rest of the players in Blue Lock, participated in achieving success to support his family.
Isagi has been growing a lot in the past few episodes, and his ability to evolve so quickly makes his chances of surviving and possibly winning Blue Lock very high. Here are the latest updates.
Episode 16 Speculation
The next episode will bring on the next match of Isagi’s team, now with Barou in it. They will likely face off against Chigiri, Kunigami, and Reo, who are now a team.
Since Isagi went ahead with the second selection without Kunigami and Chigiri, the match will be pretty heated and competitive due to their anger and ego being affected by Isagi.
Reo and Nagi will also face off against each other. Isagi’s ability to evolve and adapt might cause him to steal a few tricks from Kunigami and Chigiri.

Episode 15 Recap
Barou gains control and scores despite Naruhaya’s shot hitting the post. As they attack the net in the subsequent round, Isagi passes to Nagi, who scores. Barou attempts to score from the kickoff once more, but Nagi blocks the shot; Isagi seizes the ball, but Naruhaya steals it and gives it to Barou for the goal.
Isagi understands that Naruhaya consistently places himself in his blind area so he can approach Rin without being seen. Nagi scores once more to tie the contest. Naruhaya’s motivation to succeed is revealed in a flashback, which comes from his desire to help his low-income family after their parents’ passing.
Barou attempts to shoot again from kick-off but is stopped; Naruhaya attempts to shoot while imitating Isagi’s kicking but misses the post. Isagi moves toward the net after Nagi gains possession, prompting Barou to follow. Isagi imitates Naruhaya’s footwork as he races to the goal after seeing Barou change targets.
Nagi passes the ball, and Isagi scores to win the game. Isagi argues that any side may have won, but Naruhaya says he was the better player and laments his missed shot. Isagi chooses Barou to join the team while acknowledging Naruhaya’s assistance in his development. Naruhaya is disqualified.
The day before, Kunigami and Chigiri approached Reo to join them since they were upset that Bachira and Isagi had abandoned them. Reo agreed to defeat Nagi for abandoning him.
About Blue Lock
Blue Lock is a Japanese manga series written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. It has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine since August 2018. Blue Lock won the 45th Kodansha Manga Award in the shōnen category in 2021.
The story begins with Japan’s elimination from the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which prompts the Japanese Football Union to start a program scouting high school players who will begin training in preparation for the 2022 Cup.
Isagi Youichi, a forward, receives an invitation to this program soon after his team loses the chance to go to Nationals because he passed to his less-skilled teammate.
Their coach will be Ego Jinpachi, who intends to “destroy Japanese loser football” by introducing a radical new training regimen: isolate 300 young strikers in a prison-like institution called “Blue Lock”.
