They managed to breach Team Z’s defenses, but to everyone’s amazement, he chose to pass the ball to Ohkawa instead of shooting. Isagi stuck his foot out and intercepted it, ruining Team Y’s plan and taking the ball for his own.
Bachira received the ball and offered a pass. Isagi scores after kicking the ball in, giving Team Z a 2-1 victory. Isagi realizes he has broken the dreams of everyone on team Y but feels good about it.
Team Z celebrated their victory with some meat rewarded to them. Isagi meets Chigiri, who’s watching their match. Chigiri tells Isagi his weapon is spatial awareness and also reveals his ACL injury.
He tells Isagi it causes him to fear playing a game, and the reason he joined Blue Lock was so that he could find a reason to give up on his dream.
Isagi refuses to believe him, which angers Chigiri. During training, Isagi realized he needed to strengthen his sense of the game. He might then be present at the appropriate time and location. The score and match table is displayed, and Team Z’s rankings are changed, with Isagi now the highest-ranking player.
Their next match is against Team W. Isagi unwittingly rallied the entire squad with his ambition to get better. Ego narrates that if a player with a low ranking suddenly rises above the rest, it would increase rivalry.
About Blue Lock
Blue Lock is a Japanese manga series written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. It has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine since August 2018. Blue Lock won the 45th Kodansha Manga Award in the shōnen category in 2021.
The story begins with Japan’s elimination from the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which prompts the Japanese Football Union to start a program scouting high school players who will begin training in preparation for the 2022 Cup.
Isagi Youichi, a forward, receives an invitation to this program soon after his team loses the chance to go to Nationals because he passed to his less-skilled teammate.
Their coach will be Ego Jinpachi, who intends to “destroy Japanese loser football” by introducing a radical new training regimen: isolate 300 young strikers in a prison-like institution called “Blue Lock”.
