Isagi goes downstairs to the kitchen. He receives Kunigami’s gratitude for the pass he gave him during their previous battle. Isagi asks him why he enjoys football. According to Kunigami, he played soccer to help him become a superhero for youngsters. He used to look up to football stars when he was younger.

Therefore, he wanted to motivate younger generations. Kunigami questions Isagi about why he passed the ball to him when they were eating. Isagi admitted that his response was instinctive, to which Kunigami responded that it could be his weapon.

As soon as the game starts, Isagi recalls the plan Kuon had made for it. As the front striker, each player would have ten minutes to score as many goals as possible.

The game’s first ten minutes go by without a goal because Bachira could not exploit his abilities. Kunigami is the next striker, and he attempts a long-range shot. On the other hand, Team Y players were prepared and managed to stop the ball.

Isagi observes that Team Y is not playing correctly. Niko Ikki, another one of Team Y’s aces, gets the ball back. Isagi understands that Niko would hand the ball to a wide-open Ohkawa. The goalkeeper stooped down Gagamaru as he attempted to score by striking the ball with his head.

Team Z had a chance to score after the ball was kicked off the field. Isagi realized before the game resumed that Niko, not Ohkawa, was the brains behind Team Y’s plan. Once he had the ball, Isagi attempted to score but could not.

Thankfully, Gagamaru was nearby and was able to score a goal. Niko appreciates Isagi for realizing he is the true ace, and Isagi decides to take him down.

About Blue Lock

Blue Lock is a Japanese manga series written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. It has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine since August 2018. Blue Lock won the 45th Kodansha Manga Award in the shōnen category in 2021.

The story begins with Japan’s elimination from the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which prompts the Japanese Football Union to start a program scouting high school players who will begin training in preparation for the 2022 Cup.

Isagi Youichi, a forward, receives an invitation to this program soon after his team loses the chance to go to Nationals because he passed to his less-skilled teammate.

Their coach will be Ego Jinpachi, who intends to “destroy Japanese loser football” by introducing a radical new training regimen: isolate 300 young strikers in a prison-like institution called “Blue Lock”.
