A great movie needs a great director, so the franchise got Yuzuru Tachikawa on board to direct the piece. Tachikawa is also the director behind the Mob Psycho 100 series, the psychological thriller Death Parade.

Tachikawa will be directing the anime Studio NUT, which has produced some fan favorites like Saga of Tanya the Evil, Deca-Dence, and FLCL Alternative. Studio NUT and Tachikawa have previously worked together on the Deca-Dence anime.

Moreover, NUMBER 8, editor of the Blue Giant manga, is responsible for the movie’s screenplay. They’re also the story director of the Blue Giant Supreme manga, which features the series’ Europe arc.
