The ex-wires are out on a mission to save Izumo and bring Shima back, but in the Illuminati headquarters, Izumo is in a tough situation. The organization brought her biggest nightmare, her mother, to her. Illuminati’s goal is to force a demon inside Izumo’s body and make her the host. Rin and the others have to save her before that happens.
After Yukio and the others reach the Shimane prefecture, they call Mephisto, who is repairing the broken barrier back at the academy. He ordered the ex-wires to investigate the area and take Nemu’s help. After a whole day of investigation, they found very little info, but Nemu helped them by summoning Izumo’s familiar.

2. Episode 6 Speculation
The next episode will show us Izumo’s past, what happened five years ago, and how Izumo’s fate is tied to the Illuminati. The group is finally so close to their friends, but Illuminati is a force they need to be careful with.
Raiding their base of operations and walking away with their friends is impossible but fighting them is even harder. We still don’t know who and what Takara Nemu is. His puppet seems to be a separate entity from the boy himself. Will we finally see his powers in this fight against the organization?
3. Recap of Episode 5
The episode begins with Izumo’s nightmare, where we see her mother and her little sister, Kamiki Tsukumo. Once the nightmare ended, she woke up in a sealed room all alone. In another room of the place, Shima woke up too, and after hearing that the higher-ups were going to talk with Izumo, he asked them to let him do the talking.
On the other side, Yukio and the exwires left on this special mission to pursue Izumo and Shima. Since Shima was holding onto the doll Nemu gave Izumo, he could pinpoint their location. The whole group headed to the Shimane district, the hometown of Izumo. On their way there, Rin intentionally started a fight with Suguro to lift up his spirit.
Back in the True Cross Academy, Mephisto was busy repairing the whole barrier when Shura came to meet him. Shura was terribly injured after taking the seraphim explosion head-on. After hearing that Mephisto sent the ex-wires on the mission alone and that Shima was the spy, not Nemu, she screamed so hard she fell on the ground. Just then, Mephisto received a call from Yukio, who just arrived at their destination.
Back in the Illuminati headquarters, Shima came to talk with Izumo, and after him, entered the higher-ups with Izumo’s nightmare in flesh, her mother. With her mother arrived another individual named Doctor Gedoin. Illuminati’s plan was to make Izumo a host for a demon. Why they want to do this is unknown, but this could only be done with someone from Kamiki’s bloodline.
Yukio told Mephisto that the location is less of a shrine and more of a theme park. Mephisto told them to investigate the area thoroughly and, if they ran into any trouble, just ask Nemu for help. A short while after entering the crowd, Nemu disappeared. After the whole day, when the group gathered on a rooftop, Nemu rejoined them. He summoned Izumo’s familiar to learn about her past.
