Recap of Blue Box Episode 5
Blue Box Episode 5 starts with a cliffhanger moment, as the intense and high-stakes badminton match between Taiki Inomata and Shoichiro Kishi continues.
The game is uncertain, as only a single point is needed for Taiki’s victory. Taiki does not disappoint and scores a point with an impressive high shot. This victory secures a place in the finals for Taiki.
Although Taiki loses to Nishida later, he acknowledges his skills. Taiki gets a text from Chinatsu telling him to come to the Aquarium. This is because Hina bets that Chinatsu will have an aquarium date with Taiki if he manages to get to the finals.
Taiki is nervous yet excited and prepares for his “first date” with Chinatsu. On the big day, despite oversleeping, he makes it to the aquarium. He’s struck by Chinatsu’s beauty there, and the two enjoy a heartfelt day together.
Chinatsu’s sincere reactions make Taiki’s heart race and make for many heart-warming and cute moments; she even takes a photo to capture the memory of the outing.
The next day, Kyo teases Taiki about his aquarium outing, leading Taiki to admit it went well shyly. When asked what he would do if Chinatsu liked him back, Taiki admits that it would be a dream come true for him.
While they are dilly-dallying and talking about love, Hian comes forward and reminds him of the important matches he has lined up next.
Taiki is knocked back to reality and becomes grounded, promising himself to focus on the nationals and the upcoming matches—the episode ends with Hian watching Chinatsu enter Taiki’s house.
Speculations for Episode 6
In the next Episode, we may see Hina wrestling with her feelings about Taiki and Chinatsu’s closeness, especially after seeing Chinatsu at Taiki’s home.
This could lead her to reconsider her stance on their friendship, especially since she grows increasingly attracted to Taiki.
Taiki’s focus will likely shift back to training as he prepares for the upcoming qualifiers against Sajikawa. Taiki’s growing connection with Chinatsu might motivate him, and we may see a brief training arc or a time skip.
