Bloodborne’s PC version has been out for a while, as per the screenshot name

Bloodborne has consistently been considered one of the best games with the Souls-like feel. The only caveat was that the game was “officially” never made available for the PC market.

In the eight years since its launch, the developers FromSoftware have refuted all claims of the existence of a PC version. However, an eagle-eyed dev has spotted something of value online.

As per the creator of the Bloodborne 60FPS patch – Lance McDonald – a quick scroll through the Bloodborne fandom Wiki reveals a screenshot bearing the name “SPRJ-win64” – the naming convention followed by screenshots taken from the debug menu.

The screenshot was taken in the “Fishing Hamlet,” an area accessible exclusively through the “Old Hunters” DLC. This confirms that Bloodborne has a full-blown PC version.

This would align with Lance’s claims that he had seen Bloodborne running on Windows 7 around 2014, running an early build. However, the presence of the entire game, in addition to the DLC, is a big deal.

Currently, the developing studio busy creating DLCs for their fabled and award-winning Elden Ring. They also have another title for release later this year – Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon.

This clarifies that fans must not hope of getting a PC version of Bloodborne any time soon. Lance also mentioned that despite confirmation of a complete build on PC, there’s a skinny chance that players would ever get to lay their hands on it commercially.

A follow-up tweet also clarified that the screenshot file is from a few years ago. Lance mentioned that the screenshot name would explain that Bloodborne runs on PC successfully, despite people’s lingering doubts about its truth.

This would make much sense, given that games are developed on PCs. This screenshot, however, isn’t from an early “project beast” era, as hinted by the loading icon in the corner.

While fans are anything but optimistic about the potential release of Bloodborne on PC, a more realistic expectation would be a remaster or a sequel that would have a PC version as well.
