Diablo 4 was announced on November 1, 2019 at the BlizzCon event. It will be the fourth title in the action Diablo series that is famous for its depiction of blood and gore. For example, the reveal trailer featured Lilith and her summoning ritual in a horrific scene.
Diablo 4 has been rated M for Mature 17+ by ESRB due to its “blood and gore, intense violence, language”, which is due to its graphics scenes of dismemberment, mutilation, blood, gore, etc.
It shouldn’t be surprising to see blood splatters, mutilated torsos on spikes, and exposed organs throughout the game. The ESRB’s description of Diablo 4 also mentioned that it will have various in-game purchases.
Many would agree that Diablo 3 didn’t quite live up to its expectations. Thankfully, Blizzard has taken note of all the feedback and gone back to its dark and dire roots with Diablo 4.
Blizzard aims to make Diablo 4 into a live-service game, although the details aren’t disclosed yet. This makes in-game purchases a bit problematic according to some players.
Although Blizzard had brought in tons of profit from microtransactions in Diablo Immortal. It all depends on how in-game sales and live-services are offered in Diablo 4.
Diablo 4 is going through an erratic development phase as suggested by recent reports. Anonymous staff members from Blizzard have called out the company’s forceful demands to work overtime to make June 2023’s launch target.
