The Shadow of Erdtree DLC introduces various new items and weapons in the game including the Blade of Damnation. This unique-looking Greatsword bestows the divine powers of the Lord of the Frenzied Flame upon its wielder.
However, acquiring it is not easy. To get it, you have to first defeat its original owner, and acquire it as a reward. Unfortunately, finding its owner is a difficult task in itself.
1. How to get the Greatsword of Damnation in Elden Ring DLC?
The Blade of Damnation can be acquired by defeating Midra, Lord Of Frenzied Flame boss in Elden Ring DLC. Midra can be found in Midra’s Manse within Abyssal Woods located in the central-east region of the realm of the Shadows.
Assuming you have already found the Woodland Trail site of grace within the Abyssal Woods. Let us start from this point of reference.
If you do not have access to this location, here is a guide to help you out. If you have already found the Midra’s Manse site of grace, skip directly to part three of the guide.
Start from the Woodland Trail site of grace, head west, and drop down to the larger open area. Sneak around the enemies in this area, keep heading to the west, and make your way through the giant arch gateway.
Once you are through, keep following the pathway until you come across another set of similar enemies. Sneak past them and head towards the southwest.
Soon, you will come across a hilly terrain. Climb the path up to the east and drop down again.
Here, you will see a massive building. Walk up to it and open the main gate. This is Midra’s Manse.
3. Finding Midra, Lord Of Frenzied Flame in Elden Ring DLC
Once you walk into Midra’s Manse touch the grace site right in front of you. Look east and attack the painting on the wall. This action will open up a hidden pathway.
Head straight, take a right then go through the arch gateway on the left. Now loop back around to the right and you will come across a lever.
Pull the lever, and backtrack to see a new pathway opening up behind a bookshelf.
Head inside this path and climb up the ladder. Head west and you will see another ladder. Climb it up as well.
Now, make your way across the wooden beam path and touch the next grace site.
After this, head straight and drop down. Turn around and enter the secluded room behind you.
Attack the painting in this room to open up another hidden path.
Head inside and climb up the stairs then the ladder to the right.
Pull the lever, drop down, and head through the gate on the west.
From here, just keep walking up the stairs and going through the small rooms, after a few rooms you will enter a massive hall where you will find the boss, Midra, Lord Of Frenzied Flame. Defeat him and his weapon of choice is yours to keep.
4. About Elden Ring
Elden Ring is a major title released by FromSoftware in 2022, the developers of Demon’s Souls, Bloodborne, and the Dark Souls franchise. Set in the ‘Lands Between’, players are on a quest to repair the Elden Ring and become the new Elden Lord.
Shadow of the Erdtree is a full-fledged expansion for Elden Ring added in June 2024. It is a whole new map with new Weapons, Sorceries, Ashes, and Craftables. It is a challenging DLC and as players continue to explore the map, they find surprises and easter eggs left by the developers every day.
