In episode 12 of Black Summoner, a little possessiveness is nice to see in Kelvin’s relationship with Efil. The girl was still denied a kiss if only they could get more physical intimacy. Suppose Kelvin had not met the people and companions that made this world worthwhile to live in.
Having Melfina in his head probably helped too. Clive shows the darker reflection of what Kelvin could have become if he had been driven by excess and the power fantasy afforded by his reincarnation.

Episode 13 Speculation
My favorite anime scythe comes from Kelvin’s favorite Gundam; nice to see him take inspiration from that. That creep ought to have died; it was satisfying to see it go down. There wasn’t much attention given to Gerard and Melfina in this one, which was disappointing.
The isekai was not offensive, but the harem side was a bit overwhelming for me; let’s wait and see what season 2 brings.

Episode 12 Recap
Efil is the first to attempt to charm the guy who has delighted enslaved people after seeing him. Kelvin is around, so who knows what will happen. Clive appears to be another reincarnation like Kelvin.
He must be much older than Kelvin, based on the length of his career. Although, it seems as if Clive is still four levels below Kelvin.
Clive has largely abused his reincarnated powers to get where he is today. It’s good that Clive is no match for Kelvin in a fight, even if he can match him in a row. Kelvin’s Crescent Scythe sliced through Clive’s Tempest Barrier with satisfying results. It’s a shame he didn’t kill Clive with just one blow instead of cutting off his legs.
The fact that they were able to get away from Kelvin before he could finish the job upset me. Now that glasses guy is using Clive for his experiment with cursed weapons, it looks like Clive’s allies aren’t fond of him. When Clive returns next time, I’m sure his pretty face won’t be there.
What a scene at the end. When that girl began to laugh, I got nervous! As far as I was concerned, she was an enemy of Trycen disguised as a friend.
Upon further investigation, it is found that the little girl is the Beast King of Guan. She uses an item to change into human form to watch Kelvin undetected. I’m looking forward to seeing how King Leonhart looks. I’d love to see him as a massive guy with rippling muscles if he didn’t wear a disguise.
During the promotion ceremony, Kelvin will get to do a mock battle against other S-Rank adventurers and hear Leonhart congratulate him on passing. A challenge against fellow S-Rank adventurers is sure to excite Kelvin.
I will have to read the manga until we soon get a season 2 announcement. Several chapters have already been translated, and more are in the works.
I had a great time watching this show! Several things still puzzle me, such as the use of CG and Kelvin’s continued refusal to release Efil. Putting those two aside, everything else seems to be in order. It would be great to hear about season 2 soon.
