The Boys Season 4 Set Photo Teases Return of a Major Dead Character

Despite his supposed death in the season 3 finale, a new set photo from The Boys season 4 teases the return of Black Noir in the series.

The Amazon Prime series is based on Garth Ennis and Darrick Robertson’s graphic novels of the same name. It is set in a world where superheroes exist, but they’re corrupt beings. These superheroes use their power and comfort to lead a life of privilege while being backed by Vought International.

The titular ‘Boys’ refer to a vigilante group led by Billy Butcher who seek to expose the corrupt Supes. Season 3 saw the internal conflict between the members of The Seven. Homelander’s mental state deteriorated as well, as Vought continued to restrict his creative freedoms.

Another internal conflict we witnessed in season 3 was between Homelander and Black Noir, one of his closest allies in the previous two seasons.

The two grew apart when Homelander’s dark past with Soldier Boy came to light. Upon learning that Black Noir never told Homelander that Soldier Boy was his father, the latter killed Black Noir in the season 3 finale.

However, it seems like that was not the end of Black Noir’s character.

A twitter account, Comicodigy shared a couple of new images from the sets of The Boys season 4. The images feature a group of Supes hanging out together in an unknown location. Surprisingly, Black Noir is also a part of the Supes group. Check out the images below –

Considering Black Noir’s invincibility throughout all three seasons of The Boys, it will not be completely unnatural if we find out that Black Noir survived his wounds from Homelander in the season 3 finale.

It is also possible that we will see Black Noir return through flashbacks, as the show often takes that route to explore the story.

It can also be speculated that Black Noir’s appearance is set during the shooting of a new in-universe Seven movie to explain his death to the public. Charlize Theron’s season 3 cameo as Stormfront was designed in the same way.

However, since we can also see Ryan, Homelander’s son present with the group of Supes, it is very likely that this is the first glimpse at the next Black Noir.

You can watch The Boys on Amazon Prime.

About The Boys

The Boys is an American satirical superhero streaming television series developed by Eric Kripke for Prime Video. Based on the comic book of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, which was originally published by DC Comics under their Wildstorm imprint before moving to Dynamite Entertainment, it follows the eponymous team of vigilantes as they combat superpowered individuals who abuse their abilities.

The show is a satirical take on the superhero genre and showcases a world where superheroes are corporatized and controlled by companies. What happens when these superheroes step out of line and rub some boys the wrong way, is the story.
