After the 3-month long hiatus, Black Clover is finally back with two of its latest chapters: 372 and 373. This wait would’ve been particularly hard for fans, considering the banger of a chapter that was released previously, chapter 371, where Mereoleona managed to pull off an almost impossible feat, making people regard her as potentially the strongest wizard.
The latest chapter mostly focuses on the battle between Noelle and her siblings against their own mother, Acier Silva, who has been revived as a paladin. Their battle had been spanning over a few chapters, and things were looking grim until Noelle stepped in. Let’s find out what becomes of their battle in the latest chapter
Noelle’s Face Off Against Acier
The intense battle between Acier and Noelle still prolongs; however, Noelle has her hands tied just fending off Acier’s deadly and precise attacks. The few times Noelle did counter her with some attack, they were thwarted with ease by the veteran warrior.
Acier, overflowing with excitement due to the exciting battle, decides to go all out and reveals her second magic attribute, water magic while charging for her next attack, which Noelle barely manages to escape from.
Solid and Nebra’s Dilemma
When Noelle had initially come to their rescue while they were being overwhelmed by Acier, they were shocked yet relieved when they found out that Noelle had obtained the power of the Sea Dragon God.
This sense of relief that they felt almost dissipated when they saw Noelle getting overwhelmed by Acier in battle. They despised themselves for simply toying with the weak and not actually putting much effort into getting stronger. They were simply drunk on their status and privilege, and they felt themselves to be pathetic to not be able to do anything while their little sister fought on their behalf.
They watched as Noelle refused to give up even while facing a superior adversary like her mother. This gave them a bit of resolve, the resolve to redeem themselves before it was too late. When Acier was about to deliver a lethal blow to Noelle, Solid dashed in to save her.
Right after this, Nebra and Nozel join the two, and all of Acier’s children join forces to bring her down.
Mother vs The Children
When Acier was ready to strike again, Nozel points to Noelle that she inadvertently developed a habit of holding back her power whenever she cast a spell. He then asks her to pour all of her Sea Dragon God magic into her next attack to increase their chance of victory.
After saying this, he uses Silver Guardian, a spell that transformed his body into silver, making his own body the ultimate defense. He then bought time by sparring with Acier in this form. Meanwhile, Solid and Nebra helped Noelle cast her spell.
As Noelle charged her attack, Nebra and Solid took a lot of damage due to their reaction to her magic, but they didn’t let go and asked her to keep charging. This was a very emotional scene where the two thought back on every cruel thing they had done to their little sister and realized that the pain she had to endure was nothing compared to what they were experiencing.
Meanwhile, as Nozel was fighting Acier, she pointed out how transforming himself into mercury would put him in tremendous pain. To this, Nozel tells Acier that the pain he suffers is his redemption that would help him reforge his bonds with his brother and sisters.
After they offered a heartfelt apology to Noelle, she gladly accepted the apology and cast her spell, saving Nozel and obliterating Acier. The chapter ends with Acier smiling, expressing her happiness in being able to see her children all grown up and united.
In some ways, this chapter is a huge progress in the story as Noelle’s broken family has been a very apparent problem since the beginning of the series. With this chapter, we have yet another one of Noelle’s problems solved.
On a related note, it’s worth mentioning that Noelle may be one of the best characters in the series due to her character progression. From being unable to control her magic, she reached the heights of being able to take down the great Acier Silva. She also tackled all of her problems in the most efficient way. In this sense, she is a step ahead of even Yuno and Asta.
