Black Clover has recently revamped their theme songs with episode 116 and with the introduction of Devil, things are taking a serious turn in the Clover Kingdom. Captain Nozel has joined the battle against Dark Patolli to aid Asta and Yuno who were previously struggling to fight with the dark elf and it looks like the bout with Devil isn’t over yet.
With so much going on in the anime, dub watchers can’t do much but wait for those dub releases and sometimes it might get frustrating. Switching from dub to sub to sneak into what’s going on can be a big weird shift.
Funimation has announced that due to Dallas Reid’s flu he was not able to hit the studio and record the dubbed episode but he is on the road to recovery. Both 114 and 115 episodes will together launch on the 19th.
Heads up, Black Clover fans!

Dallas Reid, the voice of Asta, is sick with the flu and hasn't been able to record for this week's episode. 😷
Episode 114 will launch along with episode 115 on January 19.

Dubbing is hard since not only are you translating a language which is already hard enough, voice actors also have to match the timing and even lip flaps of characters. This requires a lot of time, talent and experience. Dallas Reid, the voice actor was thankful to Funimation for being easy on him during his period of being ill.
It can be scary to say you have to miss a week of work in an industry that moves as fast as ours does and it means a lot to me that everyone at Funimation was so patient and accommodating this week. I know a delay sucks, but I promise it’s for the best. See y’all on the 19th! https://t.co/1J9PjaMAm1

When voice actors try to match the words with the lip flaps, a fair amount of distortion happens and in certain shows like Gintama, with a lot of cultural, and pun-based humor, the dubs only do half the job. And in some other cases, like Dragon Ball Z, the dubs change the tone of the show, subtly at some places and to a large extent in others.
For e.g. when Masako Nozawa voiced Goku, the resulting voice had a ‘light-hearted, fun’ feel which is completely different from what it was like in the Japanese version. On the other hand, with Bruce Faulconer’s electronic and rock-influenced sounds, DBZ became a more serious, tense anime, especially around the Cell saga.
