Black Clover manga is currently in the Spade Kingdom arc. We are finally getting to know more about the other kingdoms, their cultures, and especially the devils. It looks like Tabtata’s cards for a big showdown are set, and all his pawns are where he wants them to be.
In the previous chapter, Black Clover 256, we saw Yami Sukehiro and Dante of the Spade Kingdom going against each other full throttle. By the end of the chapter, it was clear that even if you are the prime antagonist of the arc, YOU DO NOT WANNA MESS WITH THE BLACK BULL YAMI SUKEHIRO!
The chapter ended on a fabulous note with Yami launching the latest addition to his array of overpowered spells, Death Thrust. It left us wondering about what is going to happen in Black Clover chapter 257.
I have some speculations, and expected plots, including the raw scans and spoilers for the next one (chapter 257) that you guys would definitely want to know! But before that, let’s run through the events of chapter 256 once again.
1. Black Clover Chapter 257 Release Date & Delay
Chapter 257 of the Black Clover manga will be released on Sunday, July 12, 9:30 am PDT. The title for chapter 257 has not been revealed yet.
In the next chapter, we will see the conclusion of Yami vs Dante battle, with both William and Lolopechka captured, it is highly unlikely that Yami Sukheiro will be captured, but the fight will be interesting nonetheless.
Is Black Clover on a Break This Week?
Black Clover manga is published under Shonen Jump magazine, which is a weekly magazine that comes out every Sunday.
Chapter 257 of the Black Clover manga is not on a break this week. It will continue in the next issue of the Weekly Shonen Jump on Sunday, July 12, 9:30 am PDT.
2. Chapter 257 Raw Scans, Leaks
Raw scans for the Chapter 257 of the Black Clover manga have come out.
In the next chapter, Dante will heal from his destructive wound like it’s nothing but a scratch.
The Gravity magic he has been using since is likely Lucifero’s. Since the beginning, Dante has used Gravity magic and the absurd healing magic was supposed to be Lucifero’s.
However, Dante just revealed that his original magic is Physical magic which when added to Devil’s mana results in this explosive healing. This means Lucifero has Gravity magic.
Dante begins his counterattack and warns Yami that he might just lose the battle this time since he can’t fight the world alone. Yami replies saying, “Who says I am alone?”
Next panel shows Asta taking out his sword, getting up and standing right next to Yami waiting for his captain’s next orders!

3. Chapter 257 Discussions and Predictions
The ending of chapter 256 left us with a lot of questions – Just how strong is Yami Sukehiro? Who is stronger between Yami and Dante? Has Dante been defeated for good?
Now, there are a few events that would most definitely happen in the chapter 257. Let’s begin the discussion then starting from the event with major possibility.
I. Who is stronger, Dante, or Yami?
Chapter 57 will put the discussion of ‘who’s stronger between Dante and Yami’ to rest. It will be interesting to see how Tabata manages to move forward with this fight and the storyline and keep the fans happy altogether.
Why do I say this? Most of the Black Clover fandom refers Yami to a shonen protagonist who already completed his story and is just chilling out here – if you ask me, it does make a lot of sense!
Yami Sukehiro is, with no doubt, one of the most favored characters by the Black Clover fandom. Him losing to Dante after putting up this much of fight will just be a huge bummer if you ask me.
On the other hand, Dante is the king of Spade Kingdom and the primary antagonist of Spade Kingdom arc; there is no chance that he is going to lose just yet.
Even though the plot itself is pretty straightforward for the next chapter, the outcome and how Tabata handles it will be interesting to see. I have discussed all the feats so far by Dante and Yami and their abilities and have come to conclusion on ‘Who’s stronger?’
II. How will Dante recover from this wound?
We know this for sure that Lucifero is the strongest devil in the Black Clover universe which means he most certainly has some overpowered magic. (Yes, even more so than the World Soul magic!)
In earlier chapters, we saw Dante recovering from fatal wounds in the blink of an eye. But the only difference now is that Dante’s entire torso has decimated like it was never there to begin with.
If Lucifero can heal a wound as fatal as the destruction of 60% of body, then there is no one who can stop Dante from opening the gate to the Underworld.
III. Noelle & Heart Kingdom
The entirety of Black Clover fandom definitely wants to see what will happen in the Heart Kingdom. Will the most prosperous and secluded kingdom be destroyed and that too by the hands of a devil host?
Well, that does seem pretty unlikely in a Tabata-universe. This means there might be a way for Noelle, Luck, Mimosa, Gaja and the other mages in the Heart Kingdom to stop Vanica’s magic, ‘The Exploding Life,’ from blowing up.
Even though it’s pretty obvious, how they are going to pull it off will be definitely worth reading.
IV. Vice-Captain of Black Bulls
In the beginning of Black Clover manga, Yami and the others did tell Asta that there are more Black Bulls members that are either on missions or somewhere else.
That ‘secret silhoutte‘ has been speculated to be none other than the vice-captain of the Black Bulls magic knight squad.
This theory has only gotten more realistic since the appearance of a mysterious Black Bulls spy with Shadow magic in the Spade Kingdom.
If that ain’t the vice-captain of Kuro no Bogyu I don’t know what’s true anymore!

4. Recap of Previous Chapter
Chapter 256 of the Black Clover manga, “Captain’s Duty,” was yet another aptly titled chapter by Yuki Tabata. It starts with Finral’s dilemma – whether to run and call for help or to get up and support Yami.
However, he comes to a decision that in either of the situation he will be dead the moment he makes a move. The next panel shows Dante amping up his devil power to maximum – now he has four horns and four wings like Lucifero and is at 80% of devil’s power.
How is 80% devil power maximum, you ask? Well, Dante goes on to explain that devil hosts in the human realm source their powers from the devils who are in the underworld.
For this interdimensional mana exchange 80% is the maximum that can be transferred, Dante and other devil hosts can only amp up to 100% once the gate of the Underworld will open using the Tree of Qliphoth.
Dante then mentions that he is not sure about Asta though – hinting towards a possibility of Asta and his devil partnership being different than other devil hosts.
Back to the fight, Dante launches his unparalleled spell, Gravity Magic: Gravity Singularity. This spell rampages through an entire mountain and whatnot trying to hit Yami. The spell is so strong it even ate up Yami’s Dark Cloaked Dimensional Slash and hit the Black Bull.
Just when everyone thought Yami has been defeated he comes out of rubble saying the greatest thing ever, “Right here, right now…I will surpass my limits. I’d be a lousy captain…if I couldn’t do that in front of my brigade members.”
KABOOM! Yami gets up, condenses his mana zone and Black Moon even further, and launches a new spell, Dark Magic: Death Thrust. The insanely strong spell not only hits Dante but completely destroys his torso, after which Yami says the grandest thing ever.
“I was going for a thrust but it ended up as a canon.”
