6. Chapter 245 Plot
Chapter 245, titled “Cinderella Grey,” came out recently and was nonetheless an interesting chapter. The chapter focused on providing more depth to the character’s backgrounds rather than fighting and misplaced emotions.
It began with enraged Asta attacking Dante, which in-turns enrages Dante further as he attacks Asta with his bare fists. Grey, on the other hand, wants to save Gauche at any cost.
The chapter then goes into a flashback about Grey’s past. As the title suggests, Grey was the Cinderella of her house, always being pushed away by her stepsisters and stepmother. One night she couldn’t bear anymore and ran away.
She stumbled onto some bandits but was saved by Gauche & Marie. Gauche, however, did not know since Grey was transformed into one of her sisters. Grey confesses her love to Gauche, unlocks a new spell, and thus saves him.
The same panel shows Asta as he falls on the ground, defeated by Dante. Upon realizing that Grey is also an arcane stage, Dante asks her to be his woman alongside Vanessa. He is then stopped by darkness-coated slash by Yami Sukehiro as he arrives on the scene.

Black Clover is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yūki Tabata. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine since February 16, 2015, and has been collected into 22 tankōbon volumes.
The story centers around Asta, a young boy seemingly born without any magic power, something that is unknown in the world he lives in. With his fellow mages from the Black Bulls, Asta plans to become the next Wizard King.
