Black Clover’s anime is currently in it’s Reincarnation Arc, and with the upcoming final battle, the show is releasing new information to aid in its story building.
Episode 117 of the series, titled “Breaking the Seal ”, revealed Nero’s true identity. Nero’s true form is a young girl named Secre Swallowtail, and is involved in a 500 year long plan with the original Wizard King.

Episode 116, titled “The Ultimate Natural Enemy ”, had a post-credits scene which revealed that Nero can actually speak. Episode 117 picks up the story from this point, with Nero convincing Finral to escort her to the Demon’s Bones. They then place the Magic Stones Nero had been collecting inside of the First Wizard King’s statue. After the seal is broken, the duo is covered in a magic that reveals Nero’s true form : Secre Swallowtail.
The episode reveals information about Secre’s past and her association with the First Wizard King.
Secre used to work for the First Wizard King and helped create several magic items with their sealing magic. Even though these were made by the Wizard King with pure intentions in mind, the Devil had plans of his own to have all of the Elven people killed.
