DC FanDome will give its fans tons of teasers, trailers, and first look images, including Dwayne Johnson’s entry into the DCEU in Black Adam.
But it looks like someone couldn’t wait for ten more days and leaked images of Black Adam’s suit and Hawkman’s helmet.
Twitter user @GeekLawGrad first posted the pictures. That tweet, along with many others, was taken down due to copyright claim, but you can check out the images below (unless they take this one down too).
DC really does have horrible security when it comes to set leaks.
One of the photos is of a spaceship, presumably a Thanagarian ship. In the comics, the Thanagarian Star Cruiser is a spaceship used by Hawkman and Hawkwoman.
There’s another picture of some cool-looking helmets and harnesses which belong to none other than Hawkman. His belts and armor are made of Nth metal (ninth metal), a special metal in the comics that has gravity negating effects.
And at last… Black Adam’s (Teth-Adam) champion suit. Of course, it will look much better in the clips/teaser we might get at DC FanDome, thanks to CGI magic and DC’s knack for a darker color grading for its films.
In the comics, the champion Teth Adam searches for the Thanagarian ship with Prince Khufu and Nabu, where they discover the Nth Metal.
This metal is then used by Khufu to fly, create a deadly knife and a battle glove. It also strengthens the souls of Khufu and Chay-Ara, binding them as soulmates and gives them the knowledge of Thanagar.
In Black Adam, fans will see Carter Hall, aka Hawkman, a reincarnation of the Egyptian prince. Aldis Hodge is set to play the character of Hall/Hawkman, who is also a member of the Justice Society.
After spending years stuck in development hell, Black Adam will finally see the day of light next year.
A lot of DC’s lesser-known characters will make their cinematic universe entry with this film, with many coming from the Justice Society of America era of the DCU.
Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, the film might also set up Shazam! Fury of the Gods, which will release almost a year after Black Adam.
Besides Johnson and Hodge, the cast includes Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Sarah Shahi as Adrianna Tomaz, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Fate, among others.
Black Adam is set to hit theaters on July 29, 2022.
About Black Adam
Black Adam is an upcoming American superhero film based on the DC Comics fictional supervillain, directed by Jaume Collett-Serra. It is a spinoff of the 2019 movie Shazam!, and the 11th film in the DCEU franchise.
Black Adam is the antihero to Shazam and possesses the same powers as the white-caped superhero. But after being imprisoned for 5000 years, he is finally free, and now, the Justice Society of America, a team of superheroes, must stop him before he fulfills his mission to wreak havoc on the world that rejected him.
The film stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Black Adam, and joining him are cast members Noah Centineo, Aldis Hodge, Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, Quintessa Swindell, Pierce Brosnan, and Viola Davis.
