Billions S6: Here’s Why Taylor May Leave Prince Cap

This season, I’m really trying to get a read on Taylor but they’ve been as elusive as ever. Only a couple of episodes ago, they made a rather shady investment with a vegan company. Despite it almost going sideways, it made us feel that perhaps Taylor was doing so as prep work to leave Prince Cap eventually.

But Episode 10 sure has left me confused, especially with the vigor that Taylor stopped Mafee and Dollar Bill from poaching Prince Cap’s employees for their own venture. So what is their plan?

Taylor will most likely leave Prince Capital once they find a viable way of sustaining themselves. Given their latest failed investments, it seems like it is time for them to move on to another field.

I think Taylor has always wanted an out from working for someone. Remember that time when they created Taylor Mason Cap which had to be ceded to Axel?

But let’s go back to the vegan investment. That wasn’t the only bad call Taylor, known to be Axe Cap’s wunderkind, made. Soon after, in Episode 8, they also invested in a hypersonic airline whose travel promises would make even those who don’t believe in science skeptical about their technology.

So it’s surprising to see that Taylor couldn’t see sense and had to literally be forced to disinvest in such a bogus venture by someone else. Coupled with the heat she they when Philip joined, it feels like Taylor is either losing their magic or losing interest in this field altogether.

Taylor is pragmatic, so they’ll keep working at Prince Cap until they find a solution. But at this point, I’m hoping they at least realize what’s happening. Although Taylor has been involved in quite a few S6 subplots, none of them has served them well.

Then there’s the recent development of Rian declining Taylor’s feelings due to “professional reasons” and immediately jumping into bed with her boss Mike. I’m not saying that if Taylor learns this, it will cause them to leave Prince Capital, but it will surely work to sway them in that direction.

I can only hope that Taylor’s misjudged investments so far is not foreshadowing them making an even bigger blunder that will get them fired from Prince Cap. If Taylor has to leave the company, I’d like it to be their decision. We’ll learn more in Billions S6 E11, releasing on April 3.
