Bill Cosby has another lawsuit filed against him by his former co-stars on The Cosby Show, on the grounds of sexual assault and battery. But the victims this time have not only called out the perpetrator but the media company that hid his mistreatments so far. So now, Bill Cosby and NBC Universal find themselves on the wrong side of the law.
Cosby’s former co-stars from the 80s show, Lili Bernard and Eden Tirl, have brought up the case in the New York Court, along with three other victims, Cindra Ladd, Jewel Gittens, and Jennifer Thompson.
According to Deadline, NBC Universal has declined any comments, and Cosby’s longtime spokesman has outright denied these allegations. The lawsuit doesn’t only target the repeat offender but also NBC Universal to hold them responsible for his actions with or without the knowledge. The gist of the complaint can be read below:
Defendants NBCUniversal Media, LLC, Kaufman Astoria Studios, Inc., and The Carsey-Werner Company, LLC are also guilty and liable because they knew and/or should have known that Bill Cosby was sexually abusing, assaulting, and/or battering women, including on their premises, but did nothing to stop it.
The former comedy actor has faced numerous allegations and cases involving similar complaints all around the prime of his career, and the complaints generally involved drug and alcohol abuse as well.
Cosby was even arrested for one such case but was released after a repeal. Even in 2022, the court ordered him to pay Judy Huth $500k in damages, which he has since refused to pay. Judy Huth had filed a case against the actor with a statement detailing the time Cosby sexually assaulted the minor in the 70s.
If the plaintiffs win this case, it will be a big win on their part and every other victim of Hollywood since both the perpetrator and his supporters will face punishment.
We’ll keep you updated on the results of this case, but it is high time this repeat offender faces severe punishments for his crimes. Wouldn’t you agree?
