Don’t be deceived by the Bibliophile Princess’ deceptively simple setup. Although it is predominantly a shoujo manga, it is actually famed for its magnificent twists.
Featuring a princess who would forget meals and sleep if given interesting reads, she marries the prince who (unsurprisingly) bribes her with unlimited books. Earlier this year, studio Madhouse announced the anime adaptation of the series, and now, it’s slowly nearing its release date.

Bibliophile Princess is a light novel series by Yui which was serialized from 2015 to 2022. It has also received a manga adaptation which is illustrated by Yui.
The plot follows Elianne, a bookworm who is engaged to the prince of the country. She thinks that it is a marriage of convenience, and the prince lets her read books in the palace to her heart’s content. Suddenly she feels like her position in the palace as well as in the prince’s heart is in danger.
