In episode 8 of Bibliophile Princess, titled “The Flower Guarding Bug and the Praying Messenger,” Irvine is revealed to be the Prince of Maldura.

His mother is Lady Sylvia, the daughter of Duke Slade from Sauslind. Sofia locks Eliana in the old castle where the underlings of the Third Prince of Maldura attack Irvine and Eliana to prompt war.

Now that Count Hayden has sworn his loyalty to Eliana, there seems to be no one against Eliana as the fiancé of Chris. Recently, Eliana has also become more comfortable voicing her emotions toward Chris, which strengthens their bond.

Though the matters regarding Maldura seem to have calmed down, the supporters of the Third Prince of Maldura might still oppose and plot against this peace between the countries.

The next episode is much awaited.

Recap of Episode 8

Anna witnesses Eliana leaving the ball with Sofia. Sofia takes Eliana to the old castle, saying Lilia wants to explore the old castle. Sofia locks Eliana in the old castle where Eliana meets Irvine. Irvine tells her that he is partially from Maldura, as his mother was from Sauslind.

His parents fell in love, and it was not a political marriage. Irvine is constantly bothered by history as Maldura has tried to start the war with Sauslind several times.

Irvine expresses his gratitude towards Eliana as she is the one who proposed support for Maldura, which ultimately avoided war. Irvine’s words cheer Eliana up. Irvine tells his attendant and Jean to come out.

Irvine had initially asked his attendant to hide because he stood out due to his appearance. The young ladies were scared upon seeing him by the window of the old castle and concluded that he was the ghost.

They are attacked and surrounded by the underlings of the Third Prince of Maldura, who have come to kill Eliana and the Prince of Maldura, supposedly Irvine. Doing so will create tension between the two countries, thereby giving a reason for Maldura to attack Sauslind.

Chris and his soldiers arrive and defeat the underlings. Theodore explains to Chris that Irvine had come to visit the hometown of his mother, who passed away the previous year. Irvine’s mother is Lady Slyvia Slade, the daughter of Duke Slade of the Eidel Domain.

Lilia scolds Eliana for not being careful enough. Alan confirms that Rona, Sofia’s maid, was working with the criminals and took advantage of Sofia.

Irvine explains Lady Sylvia loved Sauslind while her father, Duke Slade, with Maldura, wanted to revolt against the royal family of Sauslind. Eliana confirms with Theodore that Lady Slyvia was the one who informed Sauslind about Duke’s rebellion.

While she was considered the daughter of a criminal, the fact never came to light. Eliana tells Count Hayden that she will continue to prevent wars as much as possible. It will remove the fear of war in the Edea territories.

Eliana tells Hayden to follow in the steps of Lady Slyvia, who saved her country without help from the military. Hearing her words, Hayden swears his loyalty to Eliana.

Irvine discloses the other reason that he came to Sauslind was under the orders of the Second Prince of Maldura, who does not support the war. After the last day of the hunting festival, Irvine returns.
