Beyond Good and Evil 2 was announced in 2008 by the original creator of the first part, Michel Ancel. It has been 14 years and the game is still in development.
After numerous delays, Beyond Good and Evil 2 is now the most delayed AAA game, overtaking 3D Realm’s Duke Nukem.
Beyond Good and Evil was a third-person action-adventure game featuring Jade, an investigative reporter as she uncovers an alien invasion with a resistance union. Players work to solve cryptic puzzles to gather hard evidence against the outside forces.
Brendan Sinclair, the Managing Director for Games Industry, tweeted that the period since the first Beyond Good & Evil 2 trailer was released after its announcement is longer than that of Duke Nukem Forever, making Beyond Good the most delayed AAA title.
Some fans stated they have even entered a new phase in their life yet the game has not been released. Beyond Good and Evil 2 has repeatedly gone through a troubled development cycle. There’s a floating theory that the developers are more focused on following the latest gaming trends rather than creating a sequel true to the essence of the first game.
Beyond Good and Evil 2 is currently in development.
