The combat system in Black Myth Wukong features a variety of skill sets, making battling more fun, diverse, and engaging. These skill sets are very flexible, while some are better than others. However, knowing which ones are more valuable is important since the game is new. 

What are the best early-game skills in Black Myth Wukong?

The best early game skills in Black Myth Wukong are-

These skills enhance survivability, stamina, and overall damage.  

There are two types of skills: abilities and spells. Abilities cover Foundation and Staff Stances, while Spells cover Mysticism, Alterations, Strand, and Transformations.

To access these skills, players will require sparks. As they level up, players can gain new sparks and use them to unlock skills, regardless of location. They can also revitalize the sparks at the teleportation points known as shrines.

The foundation and staff stance skills are suggested for early gameplay. You can obtain other skills based on your specific needs as you progress.

3. Rampant Vigor

Each talent level moderately increases Maximum Stamina, helping you to perform more combos and dodge easily.

4. Resolute Counterflow

• Skill Tree: Smash Stance
• Sparks Required: 1

Performing Heavy Attack during Light Attack Combo with a Focus Point consumed allows the Destined One to execute Resolute Strike. During the Resolute Strike, the Destined One can see through the incoming enemy attacks and nullify their damage. Enemies that have been seen through are easier to stagger.

5. Pillar Stance

• Skill Tree: Pillar Stance
• Sparks Required: 1

Switching to Pillar Stance allows the Destined One to support himself with his staff and ascend to its top by holding a Heavy Attack, avoiding ground attacks. The more Focus Points he builds, the higher he perches. If the enemy hits the staff while perching, more Stamina will be consumed to maintain balance.

6. Exhilaration

• Skill Tree: Staff Stance passive
• Sparks Required: 1

Each talent level slightly increases the Health recovery upon consuming a Focus Point. The healing is consistent and might come handy in dire situations.

7. Stagnation

• Skill Tree: Mysticism – Immobilize
• Sparks Required: 1

Extends the duration of Immobilization on the next attack. Stacks up to 5-10 times.
