Beastars Anime Season 2 To Premiere in 2021, Studio & Plot

“Survival of the fittest” is the rule of the jungle. Carnivores are meant to eat the herbivores, and that is how our world works. But what if animals were to build a society just like humans? Would the distrust caused by the food chain disappear?

Beastars builds a world of modern and civilized animals where beasts of all food habits coexist. The first season of the anime, Beastars, aired in 2019, and fans have been eager for the release of season 2.

Paru Itagaki, the author of Beastars, shared a video on the Twitter account of NX on Netflix announcing the second season of the anime. The second season of the Beastars anime will premiere in 2021 and is currently under production.

Studio Orange which produced season one will continue to produce season two of the anime. It will air in the +Ultra block of Fuji TV in Japan.

Season 1 Episode 12 Recap

At the meteor shower festival, Juno prepares to confess her feelings to Legosi, at which Haru decides to leave them alone.

Legoshi goes to find Haru and confesses to her but tells her that he will need some time to overcome his instincts. After some time, an unknown character is seen walking with Legoshi and smiling eerily.

Season 2 Plot

The plot of season 2 has not been officially announced yet, however, it can be expected that the plot will continue from where season 1 left off.

Season 1 adapted chapters 1-48 of the manga, which contained the Drama Club arc and the Meteor Festival arc. Season 2 is likely to adapt the story from Chapter 49 onwards, which is the Murder Incident Solution arc.

After Legoshi saves Haru, he begins to investigate the murderer of Tem. He realizes that to confront the murderer, he has to be ready both mentally and physically and rediscovers himself in the process.

About Beastars

Beastars is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Paru Itagaki.

It has been serialized in Weekly Shōnen Champion since September 2016, with its chapters collected in 19 tankōbon volumes as of July 2020.

The story takes place in a world of modern, civilized, anthropomorphic animals with a cultural divide between carnivores and herbivores.

It follows the story of Legoshi, a large gray wolf, a timid and quiet student of Cherryton Academy, where he lives in a dorm with several other carnivore students, including his outgoing Labrador friend, Jack.

One day that no one saw coming, Tem the alpaca is brutally murdered and devoured in the night, setting off a wave of unease and distrust between the herbivore and carnivore students.
