While raiding dungeons and absorbing dragons’ souls is great, the most fun in Skyrim comes from the side activities, quests, and just random things players can explore. While the base game had many of these, the community has added a ton of new content through mods. The newest one allows you to become a rockstar in the world of Skyrim.
Created by JaySerpa, the “Skyrim’s Got Talent” mod adds around 100 new instrumental songs to Skyrim Special Edition and features various instruments. There is also a leveling system to grow your skills as a bard. It works much like the leveling for other aspects in the game; players have to practice to achieve five ranks – Clueless, Beginner, OK, Pretty Good, and Master. Each level betters your skill and adds new songs to your repertoire.
Play instruments, get better, NPCs react to your skill dynamically, many new songs, lots of easter eggs, simple implementation: a compact yet powerful Bard Gameplay Overhaul.

Once the player picks the instrument they wish to learn; they just need to click on it to start playing. The mod also brings NPC reactions to your musical performances. At lower levels, people will boo you and point out how bad your music skills are; as you reach a higher level, NPCs will gather around to listen to your music, children will ask you to be their father, and you can even receive tips from the crowd.
Playing the instrument can also give your character a buff or a debuff, depending on your skill level in the instrument. Other factors also affect how quickly you progress in your skills as a bard. If you have completed the Bard College and are well-rested, then you will learn quicker.
Being tired or diseased can slow your learning progress. You can also ask the bards in the world to teach you what they know for 100 gold.
To run this mod, you will need to have the Bad Ass Bard Songs mod installed, as this is where all the additional songs are pulled from. So, go forth and this time sing your enemies into submission.
