Owing to the leaked images of the PS5, we got an idea regarding what PS5 could’ve looked like. If you are not fond of the current design that Sony’s next-gen console sports, just know that things could’ve been worse.
Sony literally made us wait for an eternity, brought us to our knees, and then revealed the controller’s design. I know, it seems underwhelming but my word! The controller is simply sublime. The design is striking but above all, it’s very comfortable yet sturdy. It comes with a built-in mic (Woohoo Science!) and will allow you to have a nice grip.
Later, as Sony spilled more juice, opinions were born. The design of the actual console divided the fanbase. Its outer cover is white in color while the compartment on the inside is black. Frankly, it seems futuristic to me.
Blue lines running on its outside further give it an innovative look.
If anyone asks me my opinion, I’d say it’s revolutionary and breaks the chains of monotony. But of course, the majority of the internet did not agree with me.
Memes started flowing the moment Sony announced it’s design. From Ice Cream Sandwich to a router comparison, Sony wasn’t spared by the trolls and haters.
Advice: If you think the design was awful, just compare it to what we all initially thought PS5 was going to look like. Life, all of a sudden, would seem better.
With Sony not bestowing any mercy upon us, this is what we believed PS5 would look like.
This rumored/leaked design of PS5 resembled what Hollywood tried to achieve in the 50s: Trying way too hard in predicting the future.
If I were a designer, this is exactly the kind of model I would draw if my company didn’t remunerate me fairly. Luckily, this console was utilized as a dev-kit and wasn’t made for selling purposes.
If you’re unaware, dev-kit is something that developers use for creating and checking their games for a console. It carries the same specs as the particular console. However, the design may vary. One basically assembles the components in any manner to work on a game.
