DC Comics took the opportunity to celebrate Batman Day in September and made quite a few announcements for upcoming projects about the Caped Crusader.
One such project was the new original series on Webtoons called Batman: Wayne Family Adventures. This comedic series follows Batman and his adopted Bat-family on some normal, non-life-threatening adventures.
According to IGN, it has now been announced that the series will be getting a live-action adaptation by Ismahawk.
The short series will exclusively premiere on Ismahawk’s YouTube channel. The three-part miniseries will premiere mid-October. A full trailer and release date will be announced on October 11, just five days before DC FanDome.
Ismahawk also dropped a teaser featuring some of the Wayne family members.
The cast includes Jonathan Bentley as Bruce Wayne, Yoshi Sudarso as Dick Grayson/Nightwing, Lisa Foiles as Barbara Gordon/Oracle, Tim Neff as Jason Todd/Red Hood, Peter Sudarso as Tim Drake/Red Robin.
Joining them are Meghan Camarena as Stephanie Brown/Spoiler, Gemma Nguyen as Cassandra Cain/Orphan, Carter Rockwood as Damien Wayne/Robin, Du-Shaunt ‘Fik-Shun’ Stegall as Duke Thomas/Signal, and Marcus Weiss as Alfred Pennyworth.
Batman: Wayne Family Adventures shows a different take on Bruce Wayne’s life. The series follows the day-to-day adventures of the Bat-family. It shows them bickering over things like the last of Alfred’s cookies, etc.
It is a fun series that shows that the Wayne family too can live a ‘normal’ life without having to roam about over Gotham’s rooftops every other night, saving the city from a certain clown.
Batman: Wayne Family Adventures launched just about a month ago on September 8 and currently has seven issues so far that you can read for free on Webtoons.
As for other live-action Batman that’s long overdue – the Matt Reeves’ film will get a full-length trailer and its official theme at the DC FanDome on October 16, 2021.
