Bartending is a complicated job. While making a drink is a part of your responsibility, that’s not the entirety of it. Araki Joh and Kenji Nagatomo’s ‘Bartender’ manga portrays Ryu Sakura, a mixologist who has magic hands.
Not everyone comes to a bar to drink in wild abandon, and Ryu knows exactly who needs solace. His drinks and meaningful conversations help his customers make peace with themselves.
Despite the series already receiving an anime in 2006, Shueisha has recently announced that the Bartender manga will receive a new brand anime project.
To commemorate the adaptation, a project called ‘BAR Katsu’ has also been opened. It will support the enjoyment of bars and alcohol and their appeal.
In the upcoming episodes, Ryu will once again encounter customers from different walks of life. While many think that his creations are just normal drinks, a sip of them can melt away any stress in life.
The drama portraying human lives and the influence Ryu has on them will be drawn anew, and I’m excited about its debut. The genius bartender will surprise not only his customers but also those who look down upon his profession and expertise.
It’s been 10 years since the manga reached its finale, and fans of the series will be excited to know that Bartender is on the verge of such an unexpected comeback.
