A new visual was released to promote the upcoming stage play, and it looks awesome. We will get to witness Ash and Eiji fall in love all over again and try to ignore the pain that the ending will cause us.

Stage play adaptations of Banana Fish have been released in 2005, 2009 and 2012. The added comedic elements in the previous plays were liked by many fans.

The actors who will be playing the roles of Ash and Eiji look downright gorgeous in the cast visuals. Ash’s blonde mullet and Eiji’s soft and kind look is spot-on in the pictures.

MAPPA animated the original manga in 2018, and the anime has two seasons. It adapted the entire manga and left fans depressed by the time they had finished it.

Although the manga was set in the 1980s, the anime changed the timeline to modern-day New York. If you like vintage art style, then you should definitely read the manga.

Of course, fans will look forward to the stage play even after they have had their heart broken a few times already, so best of luck!
