On February 8, Adult Swim released a trailer for Ballmastrz: Rubicon, an animated special for the Ballmastrz: 9009 series. The anime will be directed by Takashi Nakamura at Studio 4°C.
The trailer shows the redesigned characters from the series, and the special seems to have a revamped animation style, different from the visual style of the original series.
The trailer primarily focuses on the character of Crayzar, who is attempting to protect Earth from invading forces.
The English dub of the special will be directed by Christy Karacas, with Andrew Reuland in charge of scripts and series composition.
The English dub stars Natasha Lyonne as the protagonist Gaz, Dana Snyder as Babyball/Stinkfinger, Eric Bauza as Flypp, and Joshua Henry as Demon Saytar.
The Ballmastrz: Rubicon special follows the events of the second season of Ballmastrz: 9009. When some secrets from Crayzar’s past threaten the planet’s future, it becomes his prerogative to unite “Team Earth” or watch as all of humanity is endangered.
The special serves as a sequel to the series’ second season and will premiere on Adult Swim on February 20. The special will also air on HBO Max and other digital retailers on February 21.
The first season of the Ballmastrz: 9009 animated series debuted on Adult Swim in 2018, and it has aired for two seasons. The show also aired on Toonami.
