A fan, who goes by @Solfalia on the forum, recently thanked the developers for including a heartfelt tribute to their father in Baldur’s Gate 3. The latter shortly developed Alzheimer’s before the early access began. Solfalia initially thanked the developers for releasing Act I which allowed the duo to enjoy the game together.

Solfalia’s father had introduced them to gaming which gave rise to a new favorite hobby. The pair had also finished Larian Studios’ Divinity: Original Sin and its sequel more than once. After the fan wrote to Larian Studios, thanking them for early access, an employee reached out to ask whether they would be okay with their father being honored in Baldur’s Gate 3. The fan then replied affirmatively and shared a wholesome picture of their father as requested.

Solfalia expected to come across their father as “a mention in a random book”. However, the fan later discovered that the tribute was an NPC with dialogues and an entire cellar for players to explore. In the Lower City of Baldur’s Gate, surrounded by the Glitter Gala, Bloomridge Park, and the Blushing Mermaid, you can find Golbraith Stredivas, a retired mind flayer hunter.

Solfalia described their father’s reaction when they shared this exciting news and mentioned that the latter listened intently with a “child-like glee”. At the end of the post, Solfalia once again thanked Larian Studios and their team for going the extra mile.
