Have you ever watched an Olympics event and felt butterflies in your stomach as the gymnasts put on an awe-inspiring performance? Bakuten!!, the upcoming rhythmic gymnastics anime, aims to replicate exactly that feeling.
Although it is a beautiful sport, it needs as much determination, hard work, and talent as any other game out there. The grace that the gymnasts exude comes from the years of practice that they have devoted to the sport they love.
The fourth trailer for Bakuten!! has just been released, and it is a feast for the eyes! The anime will premiere on 8th April on the Noitamina block of Fuji TV.
The anime’s trailer shows us the moment when Shotaro Futaba was inspired to start rhythmic gymnastics after witnessing it in his middle school’s third year. He joins the “Ao High” team when he enters high school.
Shotaro experiences the tough training behind the sport as well as makes a new friend. The sense of balance and timing that the gymnasts exhibit is breathtaking. Shotaro slowly climbs his way to the world of rhythmic gymnastics.
The CGI animation technique used in the anime blends in with the movement and the art style looks as graceful as any top-class anime.
“You Are Here,” the ending theme of Bakuten!! is previewed in the trailer. A new visual is also revealed where the “Ao High” team from Soshukan High School is depicted.
The anime is set in the Iwanuma city, and it is aimed at promoting the Miyagi prefecture. The project is organized ten years after the 2011 earthquake and Tsunami.
It is a remembrance of the effect that the disaster had on the Miyagi prefecture.
Being a sports anime, there is no doubt that Bakuten!! will be compared with anime like Yuri!! On Ice or Haikyu!! and others. However, with its awesome animation quality and graceful movements, the anime might be able to hold its ground.
