While the COVID-19 pandemic is causing a very chaotic year for people around the world, entertainment companies are trying their best to keep everyone’s spirits high. They are diligently working to produce new content for viewers worldwide.
Let’s admit it, who doesn’t get excited when they hear that a new season of their favorite anime will be available soon for them to enjoy? Especially when it is an adaptation of their favorite manga?
On Thursday, 14th May, Netflix released the trailer for the second season of the English subtitled anime adaptation of Baki. The trailer reveals that the title is Baki: The Great Raitai Tournament Saga, hinting that the second season is going to cover the fan-favorite Raitai Tournament Arc.

In addition to these, the 25th issue of Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shonen Champion magazine for the year 2020 also stated on Thursday, 14th May, that the anime will not only cover the Raitai Tournament Arc but also The Clash of the Children of Gods arc. It will also include side stories from the Revenge Tokyo section whose main focus are the Death Row convicts from the previous season.
The voice cast includes some familiar names from the previous season:

- Ryuuzo Hasuike as Jo Kaio
- Hiroaki Ishikawa as Mo Kaio
- Takanori Hoshino as Samwan Kaio
- Tomoaki Ikeda as Ri Kaio
- Satoshi Taki as Han Kaio
- Yutaka Aoyama as Juku Kaio
- Hideaki Tezuka as Shobun Ron
- Hiroki Yasumoto as Shunsei Kaku
Season two was directed by Toshiki Hirano at the TMS Entertainment studio. The characters were designed by Fujio Suzuki and Shingo Ishikawa. The series scripts were penned by Tatsuhiko Urahata, and the new art director was Masanori Nishiyama.
Sound directors were Keiko Urakami and Yasuyuki Uragami and the director of photography was Tatsuo Noguchi. The editor of the series was Yuriko Sano, and the composer was Kenji Fujisawa.
According to Netflix, all the episodes of season two will be available on the platform from 4th June.
The first season premiered on Netflix in June 2018, and it lasted for 26 episodes before ending in December 2018.
