Baki is a brutal martial arts anime that does not pull any punches when it comes to its fight scenes. An adaptation of Keisuke Itagaki’s Baki the Grappler manga and a continuation of the 2001 series by Group TAC, Netflix’s Baki debuted its second season on June 4, 2020.
While the first season of the anime covered the “Most Evil Death Row Convicts” arc, a brutal saga that saw five high-profile criminals head to Japan in hope of tasting defeat, the second season revolves around a Chinese martial arts tournament that attracts the world’s strongest fighters.
Netflix began streaming a new trailer for Baki, the anime adaptation of Keisuke Itagaki’s Hanma Baki – Son of Ogre manga. It highlights the anime’s “The Father VS Son Saga” plotline, which will be included in the second half of the show which will release on August 24, and also introduces new cast members.
The trailer also previews the opening song “Sarracenia” by SKY-HI and ending song “Salvia” by BE:FIRST for the second half of the show.
The anime will feature returning main cast and staff from the first season. As for the new cast that will join the team for the next part of Baki, they are as follows:
Character | Cast | Other Works |
Emi Akezawa | Megumi Hayashibara | Rebecca (One Piece) |
Yūichirō Hanma | Hidekatsu Shibata | Zenon (Devilman) |
Kaiser | Fumihiko Tachiki | Kenpachi Zaraki (Bleach) |
Baki is one of the most amazing Shonen series out there, and with the announcement of a new part debuting in August, fans like me can barely hold their excitement. If you haven’t watched the first season, then it’s high time for you to watch it if you love over-the-top fighting and action.
