All Avatar: The Last Airbender fans want one thing, and only one thing: a documentary of the GAANG’s adult life after restoring peace.
Although we did get bits and pieces of those times from Katara’s and Toph’s memories in Legend of Korra, it still wasn’t enough for us. But those sad times got over at this year’s Comic-Con.
The San Diego Comic-Con 2022 raised the bar this time when Avatar Studios announced their first animated film featuring Aang and his friends. As for now, the film is rumored to have a 2024 release.
Korra’s voice actor, Janet Varney, teased fans about the studio’s first animated film that will star Aang, Katara, Sokka, Zuko, Toph, and more as adults.
We all know that peace didn’t completely return in the Avatar world after Fire Lord Ozai’s defeat. Legend of Korra shows glimpses of a few of Aang’s failures that became the next Avatar’s problem.
Not to forget, we never got to Zuko’s mom, Toph establishing the police, or how Aang was during his later years (He was a goofball for eternity, but that’s not the point here).
Moreover, the movie has just been announced without a title, staff, cast, and more. The studio is just getting started on the production, so maybe we’ll get a teaser or a visual at the end of the year.
This year’s Comic-Con was genuinely unforgettable for almost every fandom out there. Marvel announcing Phase 5 and Avatar giving us an animated film with our favorites is just the tip of the iceberg.
I think the coming years are going to be memorable for us all.
