Satoshi Wagahara of “The Devil is a Part-Timer” fame is preparing for his new light novel series. He is known for creating weird premises for his works; this new light novel series is no exception.
The novel is set in a dystopian world where people are obsessed with healthy food. They have food regulation officers, and people who consume unhealthy food are called addictors and are erased from society. RIP “MgRonald”!
Kadokawa’s Dengeki Bunko, a light novel label, announced that author Satoshi Wagahara is preparing a new light novel series titled “Shokurakuen -Meshitopia- Hōshoku Society.” Tо̄chi will provide illustrations. The first volume will come out on September 8.
Niijima is the main protagonist, whose chef’s father has passed away. He frequently engages in “unhealthy” foods and has become an addictor. Mito is an overly sincere member of the Food Protection Unit.
This unit is responsible for cleaning up undesirable Addictors. Our protagonists find themselves trapped in a weird twist of events in an abandoned building’s basement.
To survive, they eat illegal cup noodles, which Mito finds an exquisite and unforgettable experience. After this, they begin to eat junk food together under the pretense of investigation.
The Devil Is a Part-Timer was a great novel series and was successful even as an anime adaptation. However, the story had significant problems in its second half. It became pointless and messy. The ending of the story was universally hated.
Now, fans have become skeptical of Wagahara’s work and aren’t willing to check the new series out. Nevertheless, the premise is exciting, and you should give it the benefit of the doubt.
