The release date of Attack on Titan’s fourth and final season was announced to be in fall 2020.
The official website of NHK had been displaying the “Attack on Titan: Fall 2020 Release” message for almost a year now. However, the message was recently changed to “Scheduled to be broadcast on NHK General TV!”.
NHK is the national broadcasting service of Japan.
Fans are perplexed about this sudden change on the website. Will our favorite anime be postponed till a further date?
When will Attack on Titan 4 possibly release?
Anime release schedules are tightly packed, and they follow the seasonal release pattern almost religiously.
The final season of the anime might be pushed back to the winter season, i.e., December. However, it may also be possible that the anime is pushed to early 2021.
Why is it delayed?
There are various speculated reasons behind the delay. It might be caused due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
It might also be due to disagreement with the production studio, MAPPA.
However, the biggest possible cause right now seems to be to manga, which is still ongoing.
A lot of developments are yet to take place. Since the fourth season is going to be the anime’s final one, it needs to cover the whole plot from the manga.
Attack on Titan Season 4 Plot
Attack on Titan Season 4 will encompass the plot after the protagonists realize the world outside the walls. They will know about the history behind the Eldians and the Marleyans.
The characters will be divided into those who support Eren and those who don’t. The ending, however, is still not known due to the ongoing manga.
