Attack on Titan Season 4 New Trailer Teases A LONG Time Jump

Attack on Titan’s fourth and final season was announced shortly after its third season finished airing in July 2019. The twisted and dark story of Eren, Mikasa, and Armin is coming to an end, and fans couldn’t be more excited for the series finale.

Following the announcement of its delay, a trailer and a key visual for Attack on Titan’s final season was released. The trailer teased a four-year-long time jump between the end of season 3 and the start of season 4.

As Attack on Titan’s manga readers already know, there’s a four year time skip in the story after the true enemy is revealed. The trailer gives us the first look at the new designs for the characters in Attack on Titan. Everyone seems to have aged well, which is mainly depicted by changes in their hair.

After finding out the world is much bigger than they initially thought, the Scouts seemed to have grown during these four years. They now have much sleeker and more agile designs for their uniforms. With the introduction of modern-day technology in the Attack on Titan world, the Scouts looked like ants on their horses in front of giant aircraft.

Now that they know that the true enemy aren’t titans, but malicious humans, their gear has adapted to fighting against human threats.

Another major implication of this time-skip is the aging of Titan Shifters. As revealed earlier, Titan Shifters only lived up to 13 years after gaining it. Armin has 13 years left, and Eren has 8 years left at the end of Season 3.

With a time skip, Armin will now have 8 years left, and Eren will have only 4 years left. It is unclear when Reiner and others became Titan Shifters, so they might run out of time very soon.
