Attack On Titan Season 4 Episode 6: Release Date, Preview And Discussion

Episode 5 revolved around Reiner’s unimaginable reunion with his former comrade, Eren Yaeger.

As you may already know, this confrontation didn’t end up peacefully since Eren transformed into the Attack Titan, taking countless innocent lives.

It seems that it is finally the time for Marleyans to pay back for the sins they committed four years ago. Eren bluntly stated that he is the same as Reiner.

But is he really the same? Or even worse? We bring you everything that you need to know before you sit down to watch Episode 6.

1. Episode 6 Preview and Speculations

The preview video teases us with a fierce look of the Attack Titan, which is much different from what we have seen in the previous seasons.

There is chaos everywhere, and people are running for their lives. With no other choice left, the War Hammer Titan appears before Eren, and we are heading towards another iconic Titan fight.

I. The Warhammer Titan

As the title itself suggests, the Warhammer Titan will appear in this episode. This Titan has been kept within the Tybur family for ages, and the episode may reveal its true identity.

We already have a vague idea about its powers, with which it can make weapons from its hardening ability.

II. Eren’s Allies

Episode 5 revealed that Eren has been sending letters to his allies through Falco. Moreover, the Attack Titan alone isn’t enough to take on the Warhammer Titan and the Marleyan army together.

So, the other survey squad members, including Mikasa, Jean, Armin, are expected to appear soon. Who knows, we may get to see Levi Ackerman in action again.

I. Is Attack on Titan on Break This Week?

Episode 5 of Attack on Titan: The Final Season will be released as per schedule. No such delay has been announced.

3. Episode 5 Recap And Discussion

Episode 5 is unarguably the most iconic episode we have seen so far in Season 4, filled with new facts and deep ideologies.

Here, I have broken down the episode into different sub-parts, explaining everything that you need to know.

I. The Unimaginable Reunion

Falco guides Reiner to an underground chamber, where he meets Eren. Reiner panics right away, but Eren is calm and composed, so different from the Eren we saw in the previous seasons.

Eren indirectly threatens him by stating that the building above them is full of innocent people waiting for the curtains to be raised. He shows him his wounded palms, and since Falco is nearby, Reiner has no other option but to obey what he says.

II. Is Eren the Same as Reiner?

Eren bluntly states that he is the same as Reiner, trying to save his own version of ‘Humanity.’ Just like Reiner, he has stayed under the same roof as the enemy and shared food with them.

Reiner looks scared stiff, sitting in front of Eren, barely moving a muscle. Does that mean that the Armored Titan who took the lives of countless Eldians is scared of death? Or is there something dearer to him than life?

For someone like Reiner, who tried to commit suicide, it is unnatural to be afraid of his death. He is trying to protect something much more precious, which is where Eren and Reiner aren’t the same.

He is trying to protect Gabi, Falco, and other new-generation soldiers like them from the horrors of war. He is a much more mature character now, compared to the puppet soldier who breached Wall Maria for earning glory four years ago.

III. Who is Righteous?

Reiner could have turned into the Armored Titan right away, but instead, he jumps in to save Falco when Eren transformed.

On the other hand, Eren doesn’t even care about Falco’s safety, neither does he try to minimize the civilian deaths.

Eren himself has experienced the same pain that he is causing now, so it should be immoral for him to act so heartlessly.

But sadly, the world in which the anime is set is somewhat similar to the current world we live in, where the desire to forgive is totally consumed by the urge to avenge.

Now it won’t be fair to expect Eren to sort-out everything the way Naruto befriended his enemies with his ‘Talk no Jutsu.’

IV. Willy Tybur’s Truth

Willy Tybur starts his speech by stating the history that is known to everyone, where Eldians have exploited and tortured Marleyans with their Titan powers.

When Eldians ran out of enemies, they began slaughtering each other, leading to the Great Titan War. The Eight Great Houses were tied in a never-ending circle of betrayal and conspiracy.

Taking advantage of this civil-war situation, Marleyan hero Helos and the Tybur family forced King Fritz to retreat to Paradis Island, where he formed his own empire of demons, waiting for an opportunity to strike back and reclaim Marley.

However, Willy reveals that all these are lies fed by the Marleyan government for years.

He knows the real truth from the Warhammer Titan’s memories, according to which the Eldian King fled to Paradis to attain world peace, and war was never his intention.

He also reveals that currently, the power of the Founding Titan lies in the hands of Eren Yaeger, who isn’t bound by King Fritz’s ideology of peace. Thus, the world once again is threatened by an army of Colossal Titans.

V. The Declaration of War

Falco gradually understands that he has been tricked and used by Eren. In fact, Eren is the bad guy about whom Willy Tybur is talking in the declaration ceremony.

Eren admits that he is the bad guy now, but the story was different four years ago when his mother got eaten alive. He reminds Reiner of everything he did four years ago.

He confidently claims that he will keep moving forward till he exterminates his enemy and transforms into the fearsome Attack Titan, resulting in the death of many Marleyans. It seems that the much-awaited war has begun.

4. Episode 5 Highlights

The episode revolves around Reiner’s unimaginable reunion with Eren, where he reminds Reiner of the sins he committed in the past. Eren also states that he has been sending letters to his comrades.

Meanwhile, in the declaration ceremony, Willy Tybur revealed the actual truth behind the history of Eldia and the formation of Paradis Island.

An unknown soldier guides Pieck and Porco to an empty room and traps them in a deep pit where it is impossible for them to transform.

While the ceremony was on its way, the Attack Titan appears before them as a ‘God of Destruction,’ wrecking everything that comes on his way.
