Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 10: Release Date, Preview and Discussion

Episode 9 explained to us how the few Marleyan soldiers under Zeke Yeager betrayed Marley, aiming to achieve their goal of freeing Eldia.

I am sure many of us were scratching our heads and wondering how Zeke became the mastermind behind the Libero attack. But now, everything is crystal clear.

Coming to the crucial question, how long will this uneasy alliance between Zeke and the Paradis forces last? We bring you the latest episode updates for this anime.   

1. Episode 10 Preview and Speculations      

The preview video features Eren, Historia, and Mikasa suggesting that they will be playing a key role in the upcoming episode. From their looks, it seems that they have some critical decisions to make.

The Libero attack has turned the whole world against Paradis, and the option of ending this war peacefully is gone. So, we can say that Willy Tybur’s plan of isolating Paradis was successful.

They have killed an unfathomable number of people, and there’s no turning back from here. As Eren said, if they don’t fight, they can’t win. We are gradually heading towards a second round between Marley and Paradis.

2. Episode 10 Release Date      

Episode 10 of the Attack on Titan: The Final Season anime, titled “A Silent Argument”, has been released on Sunday, Feb 14, 2021.

Since this anime runs on a weekly schedule, new episode releases are seven days apart.

I. An Uneasy Alliance

Episode 9 takes us back to the day when Yelena’s forces arrived in Paradis. She and her allies surrender before the Paradis forces and offer to negotiate with them.

On further a discussion with Hange and Levi, Yelena reveals that hey are under the direct order of Zeke Yeager, and are ready to lend their helping hand for the cause of freeing Eldians.

It was something unexpected from the person who tried to bring down the entire Paradis island. This results in indecisiveness among the Paradis higher-ups, and most of them cannot bring themselves to trust Marleyans.

Eren reveals that Zeke’s plan of gaining freedom by threatening the world with ‘Titan Rumbling’ isn’t a bluff at all. He recalls that the only time he used the Founding Titan’s true power was when he came in contact with a titan with royal blood.

I am sure Hange’s meeting with Yelena was the most interesting science class she ever attended. Even Levi was having a hard time to keep her composure in check.

Marleyans provide them all their weapon and warcraft designs, thereby resulting in a sudden technological boom for Paradis. And gradually, an uneasy alliance is formed between them.

I want to pin-point a noticeable incident when Sasha curiously asks Onyankopon about his dark skin color. To which he explains that God made them that way because life is more interesting if different races of people live together. This small yet cute scene tells us much about Hajime Isamaya and his way of thinking.

II. Sasha’s Funeral

Before starting with this part, let me tell you about a character named Niccolo, who debuted in this episode. He is one of the imprisoned Marleyans who was allowed to work as a chef.

He used to make delicious food that were enjoyed by the Survey Corps, and with Sasha’s death, he has lost his biggest fan. (Even an enemy soldier mourned for her death, such a great character she was.)

A little later, Sasha’s parents visit her grave, along with the girl whom she saved from a slow-moving titan four years ago. Niccolo invites them for a meal, as a last service for his lost customer.

Meanwhile, Armin regrets killing so many people. He realizes that the peaceful path is closed for them forever. On the other hand, Eren is ready to do anything to gain more power. The episode ends with Eren stating, “If we don’t fight, we can’t win.”
