Attack on Titan episode 6 served us one shock after another. At first, the mindless rampage of Eren, then the revelation of the War Hammer Titan, and finally the appearance of the Survey Corps.
Episode 5 had ended on a major cliffhanger where Eren had transformed into a titan by mercilessly killing civilians, but the destruction in episode 6 is incomparable to the previous bouts.
Once again, Attack on Titan proves how gory it can get.
1. An Irreversible Slaughter
Eren transforms into the Attack Titan and rampages through the area where Willy’s speech was being delivered. Not only does he kill Willy Tybur, but he also willingly destroys the entire arena.
The death of the civilians has been graphically presented. Sophia and Udo died in this episode, with Reiner and Falco nowhere to be found.
The reality of the destruction sets in only when Mikasa lays everything down in front of Eren. “You killed civilians, children, too. You can never take this back.”
2. Who Holds the War Hammer Titan?
Lara Tybur, the sister of Willy, holds the War Hammer Titan. The abilities of the titan have awed us all. Its body is made of hardened white skin, which acts as armor.
It also has the ability to create any lethal object that its owner can imagine.
The titan’s girth was proven when it kept coming back to life even after being smashed by Eren and Mikasa. Soon, they realized that Lara does not control the titan from its nape.
Unlike any other Titan, the War Hammer allows its controller to stay away from the body while being attached to it only through a nerve-like structure. Eren finds out this weakness and digs Lara out of the ground to devour her.
3. The Survey Corps Are Back!
We only saw the adult Eren till episode 5 in Attack on Titan’s final season. However, the 6th episode brings Mikasa, Levi, Connie, Sasha, Jean, and the entire squad into play.
The characters are sporting some new designs, and I love their outfits! They have trained with vertical manoeuvring equipment to fight against countless titans. With this hellish training, they can take out an entire city with ease.
Porco stares at the Survey Corps with horror in his eyes and wonders how regular humans can charge at the Jaw Titan with an intent to kill. He comments, “These are the demons of Paradis Island.”
