Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 8 is here to add to the pain of fans! With Eren’s plan underway, a slaughter of both Marleyans and Eldians is already taking place. We were a little too early to think that all the Paradisians will be able to leave the mainland.
Who is the real assassin and who takes the bullet? “Assassin’s Bullet” has a lot of explaining to do as an episode.
Gabi’s desperate attempt at revenge has not only killed a major character but also led to the revelation of the real mastermind behind attacking Marley.
The episode starts with Reiner transforming into the Armored Titan and barely saving the Jaw Titan before Eren could devour him too. Reiner was already running low on the will to live thus he cannot attack with everything that he has, making it easier for Eren and Mikasa to escape.
As Eren boards the airship, Levi kicks him on sight. All of us can feel a bit of satisfaction at this since Eren really does deserve this treatment after his rampage. A brief moment of celebration is shown amongst the Survey Corps.
However, we all know that any joyful moment is bound to bring grave danger with it and our suspicions are proven true in a matter of seconds.
Sasha is Shot by Gabi
As Gabi sees the Survey Corps getting away, she runs after the ship in rage. Falco’s attempts at stopping her are of no use. Her home and the people whom she cared for have been trampled over right in front of her eyes.
Why did a titan kill Udo and Sofia? Why did a titan kill Eren’s mother? Is there an end to the war that is fueled by vengeance? Even Jean has the same question. Will the killing ever stop?
Gabi shoots down Lobov and uses his equipment to climb aboard Paradis’s airship as Falco follows suit. As soon as she enters, she starts firing, and a bullet hits Sasha. Before she can fire anymore, the other soldiers attack and restrain both Gabi and Falco.
Sasha’s Last Words
As Connie and Jean desperately try to keep Sasha’s consciousness from fading away, Sasha mumbles, “Are we…eating soon?” and “Meat.” These words are more melancholic than all the deaths that we have seen in the final season.
No one other than Sasha could speak these words even at her dying moment. At the end of the day, all the soldiers are being treated like sacks of flesh. War values the lives of only those who emerge victoriously.
The Real Mastermind
Gabi and Falco are taken to the “leader” of the group and who do they encounter there? Eren, Levi, and Zeke Yeager! Hange asks Zeke if everything played out according to his plans.
Zeke comments that apart from a few miscalculations (Falco and Gabi), the sacrifices made have yielded results. Paradis now has the Founding Titan as well as the War Hammer Titan.
However, his intentions still seem unclear. Is he really fighting for the Eldians or does he have his own plan?
