In the current chapter 125 titled ‘Sunset’ – we see the effects of the Rumbling that Eren brings upon the world. The final stage of his plan shocks people and even the fans with its genocidal nature. But what comes as a subtle surprise is that it broke down the hardening crystal Annie sheltered herself in for four years.
The climax of the chapter evokes respite with the appearance of Levi and Hange – whose statuses were ambiguous for over 10 chapters. Chapter 125 will officially release on the 9th of January.
1. Chapter 126 Release Date & Speculation
The next chapter 126 will likely release on the 8th or 9th of next month just like every other chapter.
Probably, we won’t see Eren for a while as Isayama is trying to focus on the ramifications of Eren’s actions on the ground and on his friends.
Mikasa and Armin might come to a decision regarding their conflicting feelings. And there will probably be a recoup of the 104th Training Corps.
2. Theories
The defining point of Isayama’s storytelling is its unpredictability. But two significant theories are surfacing regarding the direction of the story. One claims that Eren will see through his plan and create a new world – one without prejudice.
And the other states that Eren will become a uniting point for the conflicting parties who will defeat him – a very Lelouch-esque ending.
3. Chapter 125 Plot
The chapter begins with a perspective of the Eldians on the ground as they debate over the cost of Eren’s goal against their extinction. We see Hitch and the Military Police in action as they pull out people stuck under the wall’s rubble.
Soon, Hitch finds herself in the presence of a disoriented Annie and discovers that Annie was conscious throughout the years. The chapter further traces the turmoil of Eren’s friends as they witness the unfolding of their friend’s plan in reality.
