Videocardz has recently discovered shipping manifestos for ASUS ROG’s handheld gaming console. It was noted that the gaming console has already appeared at certification offices.
This means that the product has been listed with a model name that was unknown to the public before but now using the product code we can trace the product.
The shipping manifest shows that the console features a Ryzen 7 7840U APU from the “Phoenix” series along with the Radeon 780M. It was noted that the CPU is custom and that this particular shipment, originating in China and headed for India, is meant for Bureau of Indian Standards testing, not for commercial sale.
The ASUS ROG Ally RC71L will have a clock speed of 3.30GHz. There’s an alternate product code – RC71X registered on Federal Communications Commission’s website.
While specifics are unknown, a different product number could have different memory sticks or be a special edition or merely be different in color.
Despite mentions that it’s pre-release testing hardware, it could very well be the real thing. This comes as no surprise given ASUS was the first to realize a lower TDP HS variant.
The ASUS ROG Ally hasn’t been given a specific release date yet, but it might be launching “soon” as per the company.
In another development, the Ryzen 9 PRO 7940HS has been spotted on the Ashes of Singularity benchmark website, tested on the 1080p preset. Coupled with the unreleased Radeon RX 7600M GPU, it gave an average frame rate of 104.9 FPS.
As per the nature of the Ashes of singularity benchmark, there were no clock speeds or actual useful information. The PRO CPU, targeting companies and enterprises, comes with 8 cores and 16 threads.
It also means that other than that PRO feature, the rest of the specs remain similar to its non-PRO counterpart – the Ryzen 9 7940HS, which comes with a base clock of 4.0GHz and boost clock of 5.2GHz, featuring a 24MB (L3+L2) cache.
