The ASUS ROG Ally is a handheld gaming console that will be announced on the 11th of this month. But the company had already started shipping samples of the console to many outlets this April, with many of those outlets even unboxing and presenting the samples that they received.
The fact that many outlets have received the sample strongly implies that the product is ready and has a finished design for retail. But as we get closer to the console’s launch, we still don’t have a specific release date. We do have some information regarding the console’s pricing in other regions.
According to Roland Quandt (WinFuture), who previously revealed Ally’s price in the US to be $699/$599, said that the price for the console’s high-end version in Europe will be €799. The price conversion from $699 should be €632, but since EU price includes VAT, the price goes up to €750.
The pricing is higher than the Steam Deck it seems. The €799 price will be of the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage variant. It was also previously revealed that the ASUS ROG Ally will be equipped with AMD’s Ryzen Z1 chipset.
The console is expected to release mid-June, with the less expensive variant releasing later. The pricing information for the less expensive variant hasn’t been revealed as of now, but more details about the console are expected to be shared in the event that’ll be held on May 11 so keep an eye out!
