During the Suthexe arc of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, you will have to finish up the ‘Reaver of the South’ mission.
Here Eivor starts the journey of The Siege of Portcestre after pledging an alliance with Suthsexe. To finish up the mission, not only do you have to find some scouts but also beat up a champion!
Reaver of the South Mission Walkthrough
To begin ‘The Reaver of the South,’ head to Croindene’s northeastern corner of the Suthsexe region, right beside the border to Cent, and speak to Basim. He will be inside the longhouse. Basim will also introduce us to Jarl Guthrum.
1. Find the Scouts
First of all, we need to find and kill three different scouts, but we don’t know their exact locations.
The first scout is actually already killed as he was slain by some wolves in the Northmost place.
On to the second scout, he stays with some enemy soldiers most of the time, but if you wait enough, he travels to the harbor alone. Use this opportunity to sneak up to him and execute the kill.
The third scout is in Cicestre Abbey, but you need to be quick because he would try to flee to the monastery, where you will have to deal with more guards.
Now, it’s time to talk with Basim, find him and others in a camp in a forest to the South. Just as you are talking, you will be ambushed by enemy soldiers.
2. Fight the Portcestre’s Forces
It turns out not all the spies were eliminated, and the Saxon army at Portcestre has decided to attack your camp. You need to fight the enemy forces until the bar is filled.
Just as you manage to push back the enemy, Broder and Brothir will rush to fight Fulke’s champion, and in the process, Borthir will die. It’s up to you to fight the champion.
3. Defeat Fulke’s Champion
To defeat Fulke’s champion, parry and dodge the attacks until you find an opening to attack. Aiming from afar using a bow will allow you to find the weakness in Fulke’s champion.
Even though he does not get the large health bar on the top, it does not mean this champion is less dangerous to Eivor. The longsword attacks can be fatal so tread lightly.
After Defeating Fulke’s Champion, we have a choice to either spare his life to send a message back or end it right there.
- With pleasure: Eivor’s kill him.
- Take a message to Fulke: He lives to tell Fulke you’re coming. In this choice, we will have to face him again later on.
I decided to end the champion’s life there and then because it’s a hassle to take him on again later in the game, and not like we want to send Fulke any early warnings.
4. Carry Brothir’s body
Even though Broder survived with some severe wounds, his brother was not so lucky. Carry Brothir’s body back to your camp.
After putting down Brothir’s body, Eivor and Guthrum will argue about the rashness of the decision, which brings us to the last choice of the mission.
- I will listen: Guthrum explains how to get Sigurd back from Fulke’s hands and leave the camp;
- Do not speak to me that way: Eivor replies harshly, but Guthrum will remain calm and explain his plan before leaving the camp.
Either choice you pick, the end would be the same. You’ll see all of your allies present to aid in your coming fight.
