In addition to Norway and England from AC Valhalla, Assasin’s Creed enthusiasts will now get to experience Ancient Greece in 4K 60fps.
Ubisoft announced earlier today that 2018’s Assasin’s Creed Odyssey is getting an update that will make it ready for new-gen consoles.
On August 24, Title Update 1.6.0 will bring 60fps support to the game via backward compatibility. Odyssey has been known to hit 30fps on Xbox One and PS4 Pro, which means a sweet 100% jump in frame rates.
According to the official post on Ubisoft’s discussion forum, the update will come in at 370 MB for Xbox One and 470 MB for PS4, so you probably won’t need to make any serious storage arrangements.
As for the time, you can download the update on August 24, at 8 AM CEST, 2 AM ET, 4 PM AEST, and on August 23 at 11 PM PDT.
In the years since its release, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has become a pretty polarising title. While many fans loved how heavy the game was on fantasy elements, many did not.
Additionally, it was also responsible for aiding the franchise’s transition to more RPG-like mechanics, which many fans were undecided on.
Thankfully, a lot of the feedback that Ubisoft received after the release of Odyssey was incorporated in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which feels more like a full-fledged RPG than any of its predecessors.
With this new-gen update, Ubisoft has got a lot going for franchise diehards.
Those unhappy with Odyssey initially can return to give it another shot on a new-gen console, while those who have moved on to AC Valhalla can access the newly released Siege of Paris DLC.
The future of the franchise now lies in the newly announced but barely detailed Assasin’s Creed Infinity. The game is set to be Ubisoft’s first live-service title for the AC franchise, which may or may not feature a single-player narrative.
When we find out more about AC Infinity, we will make sure to keep you posted.
About Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is an action role-playing video game developed by Ubisoft Quebec and published by Ubisoft. It is the eleventh major installment in the Assassin’s Creed series and the successor to 2017’s Assassin’s Creed Origins.
It was released for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch (Japan only) on October 5, 2018, with a Stadia version launching alongside the service in 2019. Like its predecessor, the game features a large open world, and adopts elements from the role-playing genre, putting more emphasis on combat and exploration than stealth.
