Assassin’s Creed: Mirage will be part of Ubisoft+ from day of release

Ubisoft+, a monthly subscription-based gaming service, was born as Uplay+. The subscription offers over 100 games on Microsoft Windows PCs, including their renowned Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Watch Dogs Franchise.

A recent tweet by Ubisoft has confirmed that the upcoming Assassin’s Creed: Mirage will be released on Ubisoft+ on day one i.e., 12th October 2023, and accessible via PC and Xbox. The upcoming title will thus be available on the Epic Games store and Ubisoft+.

Assassin’s Creed: Mirage will thus be available for online purchase via these two web stores in addition to the PC and console copies that can be purchased as a standalone.

The latest installment seems to revive the Assassin’s Creed franchise and bring it back to its roots. True, the developers had focused on more RPG-esque gameplay with the last three titles, namely Origin, Odyssey, and Valhalla, but stealth is making its way back to Assassin’s Creed.

The gameplay trailer has set high expectations where we can see Basim making his way through 9th-century Baghdad. Ubisoft has capitalized on this moment to announce that the game will be included in their monthly subscription gaming service.

Assassin's Creed Mirage: Gameplay Trailer

It must be kept in mind that Mirage won’t be available on the Steam website. This was attributed to Ubisoft’s significant losses in 2022 and getting a paid exclusivity deal with Epic Games Store.

As far as the gameplay reveal trailer goes, we see several action and stealth clips. The onus is on the player to determine if they want to go in hard or take out enemies stealthily in the heart of Baghdad.

The traditional Assassin’s Creed fans were happy as a result and were vocal about the franchise straying far from its stealth roots and wandering into RPG territory.

The amends have been made, and we only have to wait a few more months until we can lay our hands on Assassin’s Creed: Mirage. A lot will be riding on the success of this game, with Ubisoft expanding the Assassin’s Creed team and doubling down on their efforts to deliver a breathtaking game just like the good old days of Brotherhood and Revelations.

About Assassin’s Creed Mirage

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is an action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux and published by Ubisoft. The game is the thirteenth primary installment in the Assassin’s Creed series and the successor to 2020’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. While its historical timeframe precedes that of Valhalla, its modern-day framing story succeeds Valhalla’s own.

Set in 9th-century Baghdad during the Islamic Golden Age—in particular during the Anarchy at Samarra—the story follows Basim Ibn Ishaq (a character first introduced in Valhalla), a street thief who joins the Hidden Ones to fight for peace and liberty against the Order of the Ancients,[b] who desire peace through control. The main narrative focuses on Basim’s internal struggle between his duties as a Hidden One and his desire to uncover his mysterious past.
