Assassin’s Creed Hexe Plot might be Similar to Assassin’s Creed 3

Assassin’s Creed Hexe was one of the three titles announced by Ubisoft which will be a part of the upcoming Infinity project. It is an exciting project due to its proposed settings and gameplay formulas, which will bring a fresh change to your usual Assassin’s Creed game.

According to some interesting theories, Assassin’s Creed Hexe and Assassin’s Creed 3 might be from the same family. There’s a rather not-so-subtle relation between the protagonists in both the titles. 

As seen from the brief promotional trailer, Assassin’s Creed Hexe has a dark, ominous tone. The Assassin Brotherhood sigil spotted in the video clip led many to believe that Hexe will feature a coven of witches, set in Europe around the 1500s. 

These years were especially significant in history due to the Holy Roman Empire’s influence over Europe, where public persecution of alleged witches was a common practice. Even the title of the game points towards the hexes associated with witchcraft. All in all, this theory seems to fit well with the Assassin’s Creed universe.

In Assassin’s Creed 3, one of the protagonists Connor was the victim of intense persecution. This fate is similar to what the characters in Hexe might face during the set timeline.

Both Assassin’s Creed 3 and Hexe could be set in familiar landscapes. The former impressed fans by featuring forest playgrounds which served as a massive parkour terrain. This was one of the bestselling points of the game. 

If anything, tree-parkour mechanics could make a comeback in Assassin’s Creed Hexe. Just this tiny possibility is enough to make veteran Assassin’s Creed fans go crazy. 

No matter how convincing, at the end of the day these theories are all based on rumors. Whether or not Assassin’s Creed Hexe will be a nostalgic callback to the classic Assassin’s Creed 3, only time will tell. Here’s to hoping that Ubisoft will deliver a banger game, one that will keep us hooked for days.
