Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, the twelfth installment in the franchise, was launched in 2020. The action RPG was available for PC users via the Ubisoft Connect platform. After years of in-game development, it looks like the publisher might be expanding to another platform.
Ubisoft may be preparing to launch Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on Steam.
ResetEra user @AshenOne noticed multiple references to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on SteamDB’s Discord server. After which some new information discovered using a special reverse engineering tool called YoobieRE showed Valhalla’s Steam version was mentioned under a new product ID listing. This is concrete enough to imply Ubisoft’s speculated intentions of launching the game on Steam.
Ubisoft is known to stick to its own platform or even Epic Games for its PC releases. However, the games eventually come to Steam after some time.
Interestingly, this has been under progress for quite some time according to the NVIDIA GeForce Now data leak which has references to a Steam version of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla over a year ago.
These rumors make sense since Valhalla has received a hefty amount of post-launch content. The final chapter of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was recently released and Ubisoft is now fully focused on the upcoming installments of the Assassin’s Creed series. So, consider Valhalla wrapped up for good.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla follows a mighty Viking warrior, Eivor. Thankfully, for players’ delight, Ubisoft has released hours worth of exciting DLC, including mysterious quests for rewards.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
